The inhabitants of the communities of Pavana Center, Guanacastillo and Aguacaliente, in the department of Choluteca, were very pleased with the social infrastructure projects that our company Energía Básica, S.A. (Basic Energy) (ENERBASA) inaugurated recently with an investment of nearly one million lempiras.
Before starting the mounting solar energy park works, the company began to socialize various projects, together with the Municipality of Choluteca, with Comunal Trustees and inhabitants of the communities. Today we are excited that the standard of living of many people are improved. We promised to deliver these works before opening the solar energy park, and we have complied.

For instance, in the village of Guanacastillo the inhabitants had serious problems with the supply of drinking water, a situation that was resolved with the construction of a tank with a capacity of 10,000 gallons.

In Pavana Centro, ENERBASA fully rehabilitated the water mega tank in order to provide the community with is safe and healthy water, and ensuring the permanent supply of this vital liquid.

In the village of Agua Caliente, a modern and completely new multipurpose community center was built.

Now this new building will be use for the development of civic and social events for the inhabitants of this community.

Enerbasa le cumple a la comunidad

Muy complacidos se mostraron los habitantes de las comunidades de Pavana Centro, Guanacastillo y Aguacaliente, en el departamento de Choluteca, con los proyectos de infraestructura social que nuestra empresa Energía Básica (ENERBASA), inauguró recientemente con una inversión cercana al millón de lempiras.

Desde antes de comenzar los trabajos de montaje del parque de energía solar empezamos a socializar varios proyectos, junto a la Municipalidad de Choluteca, con los patronatos y habitantes  de las comunidades. Hoy nos entusiasma saber que se mejora el nivel de vida de muchas personas. Prometimos entregar estas obras antes de inaugurar el parque de energía solar, y hemos cumplido.

Para el caso, en la aldea de Guanacastillo los habitantes tenían serios problemas con el suministro de agua potable, situación que se resolvió con la construcción de un tanque con una capacidad de más de 10,000 galones.

En Pavana Centro, ENERBASA rehabilitó totalmente el megatanque de agua con el objetivo de que el agua consumida en la comunidad sea potable y saludable, asegurando el suministro permanente de este vital líquido.

En la aldea de Aguacaliente, un moderno y totalmente nuevo centro comunal de usos múltiples fue construido. Ahora este nuevo edificio será aprovechado para el desarrollo de eventos cívicos y sociales por  los moradores de esta comunidad.

Honduras will generate solar energy in 2015

2015 will be historic for Honduras because in March will start the generation of photovoltaic solar energy. The company Energía  Básica, Sociedad Anónima de Capital Variable (Basic Energy, S.A.)-ENERBASA member of Grupo Lufussa (Lufussa Group), will produce 25 megawatts in the Pavana Solar photovoltaic park.

It is the first solar energy project that will join the grid of the Empresa Nacional de Energía Eléctrica-ENEE (National Electric Energy Company-ENEE). The contract was approved by the Congreso Nacional-CN (National Congress-NC) last March and its execution was scheduled for 12 months.

According to Gerardo Salgado, Planning Manager of ENEE, in the southern region of the country-Choluteca and Valle there is potential to produce 400 megawatts of solar energy and 210 megawatts in El Paraíso. In other departments, such as Yoro, the potential is lower.

Recently, the State authorities have signed 619 megawatts in solar energy contracts. Most of the projects are in final design stage and financing.

Another project of 50 megawatts is under construction in the village of Talpetate, Nacaome, according to Victor Flores, mayor of the municipality. It is developed by the firm Cohessa-Soposa.

Gerardo Salgado believes that solar energy is another option to meet the demand for medium and long term, estimated between 60 and 70 megawatts.

The generation managed to rise after the authorities of the ENEE admitted that the availability of energy had fallen to 1,250 megawatts, insufficient to cover domestic consumption, which reached 1.375 Megs.

The potential of solar energy in Honduras has attracted interest from domestic and foreign businessmen to venture into this activity, especially due to the economic incentives that have been approved by the Executive and the CN.

The 619 megawatts that would be developed should sign a buy-sale contract with the ENEE. However, there are companies that analyze their foray with the Law of the Electricity Industry, which envisages a supply and demand market, and the plants with the lowest prices will have the opportunity to sell to the ENEE.

The portfolio of solar projects amount between 20 and 25 in Choluteca, Valle and Yoro. In Marcovia, Choluteca, the company Gestamp Solar will develop a photovoltaic project with an installed capacity of 50 megawatts. In addition, companies as Solo Sol, S.A., Soluciones Energéticas, S.A., Solares del Sur, Energía Solares, Fotovoltaica Los Prados, Fotovoltaica Sureña, S.A., Generaciones Energéticas,  Los Angeles Fotovoltaica, S.A. and Renovables del Sur, S.A., began their efforts in Namasigüe.  Also, Técnicas Fotovoltaicas, S.A., Iluminando el Sur, S.A., and Fotovoltaica Nueva Concepción, S.A. in Choluteca, and Iluminado El Norte, S.A., Olanchito, Yoro.

Honduras generará energía solar en 2015

El año 2015 será histórico para Honduras porque en marzo comenzará la generación de energía solar fotovoltaica. La empresa Energía Básica, Sociedad Anónima de Capital Variable (Enerbasa), del Grupo Lufussa, producirá 25 megavatios en el parque fotovoltaico Pavana Solar.

Es el primer proyecto de energía solar que se unirá al sistema interconectado de la Empresa Nacional de Energía Eléctrica (Enee). El contrato fue aprobado por el Congreso Nacional (CN) en marzo pasado y su ejecución se programó para 12 meses.

Según Gerardo Salgado, gerente de Planificación de la Enee, en la zona sur del país –Choluteca y Valle- hay potencial para producir 400 megavatios de energía solar y 210 megas en El Paraíso. En otros departamentos, como Yoro, el potencial es menor.

Recientemente, las autoridades de la estatal firmaron 619 megavatios en contratos de energía solar. La mayor parte de los proyectos está en etapa de diseño final y financiamiento.

Otro proyecto de 50 megavatios está en construcción en el caserío de Talpetate, Nacaome, según Víctor Flores, alcalde de ese municipio. Es desarrollado por la firma Cohessa-Soposa.

Gerardo Salgado considera que la energía solar es otra opción para cubrir la demanda de mediano y largo plazo, que se estima entre 60 y 70 megavatios.

La generación logró auge después de que las autoridades de la Enee admitieran que la disponibilidad de energía había bajado a 1,250 megavatios, insuficientes para cubrir el consumo interno, que llegó a 1,375 megas.

El potencial de la energía solar en Honduras ha despertado el interés de empresarios nacionales y extranjeros en incursionar en esta actividad, sobre todo por los incentivos económicos que han sido aprobados por el Poder Ejecutivo y el CN.

Los 619 megavatios que serían desarrollados deberían firmar un contrato de compra-venta con la Enee. Sin embargo, hay empresas que analizan su incursión con la Ley de la Industria Eléctrica, que contempla un mercado de oferta y demanda, y las plantas con los precios más bajos tendrán la oportunidad de vender a la Enee.

El portafolio de proyectos solares suma entre 20 y 25 en Choluteca, Valle y Yoro. En Marcovia, Choluteca, la firma Gestamp Solar desarrollará un proyecto fotovoltaico con una capacidad instalada de 50 megavatios. First solar park in Honduras begins in March

Planning manager of the Empresa Nacional de Energía Electrica-ENEE (National Electricity Company -ENEE), Gerardo Salgado reported that for February 2015 part of the solar parks under construction are expected to start generating, specifically seven.

Primer parque solar en Honduras inicia en marzo

El gerente de Planificación de la Empresa Nacional de Energía Eléctrica (Enee), Gerardo Salgado, informó que para febrero de 2015 se espera que comience la generación de una parte de los parques solares en construcción, específicamente de siete.

La empresa Energía Básica S. A. (Enerbasa) es la primera que ha anunciado el inicio de su operación comercial en marzo del próximo año, y cuya producción de energía será vendida a la Enee.

Los siete proyectos antes mencionados se construyen en Choluteca y Valle y estarán listos para operar en el primer semestre de 2015.

Su capacidad instalada es de 250 megavatios, los que alcanzarán en el lapso comprendido entre las 11:00 am y las 2:00 pm, es decir, en las horas de mayor radiación solar.

Las ubicaciones de los proyectos están en la ciudades de Choluteca, Namasigüe, Marcovia y Nacaome.

De acuerdo con Salgado, la estatal eléctrica aprobó este año más de 20 proyectos de energía solar para Choluteca, Valle y Yoro.

La capacidad instalada es de 619 megavatios, de los que en Choluteca y Valle pueden desarrollar entre 400 y 450 megas. Se estima que la demanda anual de energía oscile entre 70 y 80 megavatios, los que podrán cubrirse con energía no contaminante.
